I recently went on a long weekend trip to Chicago for my 35th Birthday, here is a summary of Day 1’s adventures – June 6, 2013.

• Got to sleep in.
• Nice drive to Chicago with the traffic not being too bad. Car complained about low oil and low washer fluid, so filled those up when I got here.
• Hotel is very nice and the staff very friendly.
• Had dinner at Panera Bread – always a safe and yummy choice!
• The trip on the CTA to/from downtown Chicago was uneventful and pleasant – as I come to expect from the CTA.
• The Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me show was hilarious as always and I had a great time!
• Had a nice swim and hot tub soak at the hotel – the pool room could use something to absorb noise – and they never have a clock in them! There was a family in there with kids, who were just being kids, but the room echoed so much, it got very loud – but still pretty relaxing.
• Now for a nice sleep before Day 2 tomorrow!
