Merry Christmas everyone!  I hope everyone is enjoying this blessed Christmas day.

So are you a Drummer Boy or a Magi at Christmas?  Do you only give a simple gift of something you can do or make?  Do you come meekly before Jesus wondering if your gift will be worthy?  Or do you bring expensive gifts?  Do you come knowing the importance of Jesus and knowing your gift is fitting for a king?

So have you decided – are you a Dummer Boy or a Magi at Christmas?

Do you know – it doesn’t matter!  Both brought what they could to Jesus – they gave what they were able and Jesus was happy with both.  So – just be happy that Jesus was born today for us – and worship Him as you are able, and He’ll be happy for you.

Merry and Blessed Christmas to you!

Today I started my annual tradition of making lots of candy to give as Christmas gifts and to share with people.  The first step (after cleaning my kitchen that is) is buying all the ingrediants.  So I go to the store today to buy everything and I of course get comments from the clerk about how she’d love to be at my party, etc.  Then of course she asked – so are you making this or your wife.  I politely answered her and said I was and she said something about how that is good.  Which made me wonder, if a woman had been checking out would the clerk ask if it was her or her husband who was making the candy.  I’m sure it wouldn’t have happened.  Oh well – keeps my life interesting!

Also, grocery store baggers sure could use some training.  The one working at the checkout I used today sure was slow and didn’t pack things good at all.  Most of the bags could have had more put in them and wasn’t put in good at all – most bags were tippsy.  The clerk also helped bag at the end and she asked me if she could put a lot in a bag or would it be too heavy.  I said put a lot.  She did a bit better than the bagger but still could have had more without causing any problems for me.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Notice – I did not say Happy Turkey Day.  Today is not Turkey Day, and it is one of my pet peeves when people call it Turkey Day.  Calling it Turkey Day completely loses the true meaning of the day.  So please don’t call it Turkey Day.  Also, make sure you celebrate the true meaning of the day – to stop and reflect on all that we have to be thankful for.  Even those that don’t think they have much, if they stop and compare to what many others have in other countries — there is so much for us to be thankful for.  We live in a country where we are free and can celebrate how we want and when we want, we can worship God (who gives us all we have to be thankful for) how we want — and if we want.  So remember — on Thanksgiving — celebrate being thankful – and then you can enjoy your turkey!

Here are a few comics that sums up my feelings about Thanksgiving – some comics can put thoughts so clearly.  Enjoy!

Yesterday at work my coworker asked me a question – and I answered it.  In response she asked me how I could remember the information I told her.  I sure don’t know how my mind remembers so much information about database tables, programs, how things work, etc.  I do amaze myself at times with all the information that my brain spits out when I need it.  It would be interesting to somehow know how much data my brain contains in computer terms.

On the other hand – it is interesting at what my brain has problems with.  Namely it’s names.  I have the hardest time remembering names.  Both of people that I’ve just met or those I’ve known for years – at times I cannot think of the name at all.

Just an interesting contrast of how well my brain will retain some information while having problems with others.
