And now the long (if you count one day as long) awaited weekly feature of my website – Website Wednesdays!  I plan on talking about and/or reviewing a website each Wednesday.  Starting out these will be websites that I use a lot and find very useful, but seems that not everyone knows about them, so thus I shall share them with you!

This week’s website is the Internet Movie Database (IMDb).  This website contains pretty much anything you wanted to know about any movie or TV series.  You can search by show or movie name, character name, crew name, actor name, etc.  Each show has a complete (mostly) list of characters and who played them and the staff.  Since everything is linked together you can move between shows and actors, etc. with ease.

One example I always like using it for is when I’m watching a TV show that has a guest actor or actress in it.  I’m sure I know that person from some other show or movie but am not sure which one it is.  So I look up the show I’m watching, find that character in the list, and the click on them to find out what other shows or movies they were in.  You could also use it to find other movies your favorite actor or actress is in, what other shows your favorite character is in or who else played that part in different movies.

There is also all kinds of interesting biographical details about the people and fun facts about the shows and movies.  These include bloopers and other inconsistencies in the show.  So either check the list before you watch the show to know what to look for or check the list after and see if you caught any of the goofs!  All along you probably thought that every movie was perfect – far from it!
